Australian diver spectacularly fails, gets zero points

Australian diving hope Maddison Keeney had a bad ending to the World Aquatics Championships, earning a unanimous zero for her final dive.
With a difficulty level of 3.2, nailing the dive could have earned Ms Keeney a place on the winner’s podium, but unfortunately that was not to be.
The young diver appeared to lose her nerve mid-dive, resulting a dive that would not be out of place in many suburban Australian pools.

Emerging from the water, Ms Keeney’s pokerface did not give away any disappointment, but her coach appeared confused.
The teenager had been sitting in 4th position before the disastrous dive, but a resounding zero caused her to slip to twelfth.
It wasn’t all bad news for the Australian team, with Commonwealth three metre champion and fellow Aussie Esther Qin taking 5th place in the women’s one metre platform final.
