A one-two finish for Red Bull Ampol Racing’s Broc Feeney and Shane van Gisbergen has narrowed the Supercars championship standings after a perfectly executed strategy for race 14 at Hidden Valley Raceway.

Feeney started from pole position and thwarted undercut attempts by Erebus Motorsport’s Will Brown and Truck Assist’s Andre Heimgartner to prevail for his fourth victory of the season.

Opting to hold van Gisbergen out for longer and overcutting Heimgartner with 12 laps remaining put Red Bull on track for a comprehensive double at the midpoint of the season.

Heimgartner finished third and will start on the front row of the grid again for Sunday’s final race in Darwin.

Erebus’ Brodie Kostecki and Will Brown rounded out the top five.

Feeney has now won four races in 2023 to championship leader Kostecki’s two and has narrowed the points gap to 159.

His victory marked the 14th consecutive win for a Chevrolet Camaro in the new Gen 3 era. Ford are still hunting for their maiden victory.

‘Stoked to be here’

“It’s fantastic to get pole position, get a good start. To lead the race from start to finish was awesome,” Feeney told Fox Sports.

“Our second one-two, but our first on paper. Stoked to be here.”

Red Bull Ampol also scored a double back in round one, but the pair were sensationally disqualified after a protest regarding their cockpit cooling systems.

There remains one final race in Darwin to finish Sunday’s action, with Jack Le Brocq starting a Supercars race from pole position for the first time.

Heimgartner will get another crack off the front row, with Feeney and Saturday’s race winner Mark Winterbottom in positions three and four.

Race 14 result:

1. Broc Feeney (Red Bull Ampol Racing) 40:48.2780

2. Shane van Gisbergen (Red Bull Ampol Racing) +1.476

3. Andre Heimgartner (Truck Assist Racing) +3.306

4. Brodie Kostecki (Erebus Motorsport) +4.134

5. Will Brown (Erebus Motorsport) +10.981
