Volvo’s Scott McLaughlin took out his first V8 Championship race win, crossing the finish line first in the opening Perth 400 race.

It was a first win for Volvo in 28 years, after McLaughlin started on pole alongside the experienced Craig Lowndes.

Lowndes could only finish in sixth place, as Fabian Coulthard took out second, while Chad Mostert completed the podium.
