Our World Cup slogan makes the nation cringe
Socceroos fans have weighed in on the slogan to be emblazoned on the team bus at the World Cup in Brazil, and it appears we’ve scored an own goal.
Football’s international governing body FIFA asked fans to come up with the catchphrases for all 32 of the buses transporting competing nations, and Australia are stuck with ‘Socceroos: Hopping Our Way Into History’.
Reaction from supporters has been overwhelmingly negative.

Still, it could have been worse.
Cameroon’s ‘A lion remains a Lion’ doesn’t exactly capture the imagination, and France’s ‘Impossible Is Not A French Word’ are two examples of exactly how wrong things can go when a web poll is used to create anything.
