Dominant Pakistan declares
Pakistan declared at 6-570 late Friday in the second Test against Australia, in a first innings dominated by Younis Khan’s patient double century.
Leading the two-match series one nil, Pakistan are in an almost unbeatable position as they edge towards their first Test-series win over Australia since 1994.
Twelve overs were scheduled for the remainder of the second day’s play.

• Adelaide keep Melbourne City, Villa winless
Younis (213) added 236 for the third wicket with Azhar Ali (109) and 181 for the fourth wicket with skipper Misbah-ul-Haq (101) after Pakistan had resumed on 2-304.
Apart from battling a lifeless pitch suited to a draw, Australia also faced an injury drama involving vice-captain Brad Haddin.
The wicketkeeper carried a damaged right shoulder into battle in the post-lunch session after going off the field for treatment on Friday morning.
The incident happened in the sixth over of the day when Haddin dived to take a catch to his right, gathering the ball on the half volley and landing heavily on his shoulder.
David Warner took over the gloves from his NSW teammate and missed a stumping opportunity off the bowling of Nathan Lyon when Younis was on 125.
Warner did, however, take a diving catch down legside off Mitchell Starc’s bowling to dismiss Azhar at 3-332 after a record stand of 236.
Misbah was caught and bowled by part-time leggie Steve Smith shortly before tea.
Younis fell in the third over after tea, bowled by Peter Siddle after hitting 16 boundaries and two sixes in eight-and-a-half hours at the crease.
Asad Shafiq (21) was bowled by Starc who claimed 2-86.
Haddin went off the field for a second time nine overs after tea and Warner resumed the wicketkeeping duties.
Warner had dropped Younis on 112 and also missed a half-chance at slip off Nathan Lyon when Misbah was on 64.
Azhar was dropped on 34 and 46 on Thursday by Smith and Warner, who has had a rare poor game in the field.
An estimated crowd of over 10,000 fans poured into the sun-baked stands mid-afternoon to add to the atmosphere as 36-year-old Younis reached his fifth double-hundred.
