AFL coaches Brad Scott and Chris Scott mourn loss of brother

AFL coaches Chris and Brad Scott are not expected to attend Thursday’s National Draft in Sydney following the death of their younger brother Ben.

News Corp reports the 37-year-old died of anaphylactic shock linked to an unusual nut allergy.

His devastated mother Lynne Scott told the Herald Sun her son died last Monday after eating food delivered to his home in Bonbeach.

Ms Scott told the paper that her son had an allergy to one particular type of nut, namely macadamia.

“He’s been aware of it all his life and he was very, very careful,” Ms Scott was quoted as saying.

Ms Scott said her son had had food delivered to his home on the night he died, but it was not known how he may have ingested macadamia.

Mr Scott is survived by his four-year-old son, Thomas.

The coroner will reportedly investigate Mr Scott’s death.
