Ex-AFL player admits bashing partner
Former Brisbane Lions player Albert Proud has been remanded in custody after pleading guilty to grievous bodily harm over the bashing of his partner.
Proud faced Holland Park Magistrates Court where police prosecutors dropped a charge of attempted murder in substitute for grievous bodily harm and wilful damage.
In November, Proud’s partner, Richelle Kadadi, was found with serious head injuries on a street near their Sunnybank home.

The court heard Proud punched the woman in the chest before she fell back and hit her head.
After an attempted murder charge was dropped due to a lack of evidence, Proud pleaded guilty to the lesser charges of grievous bodily harm and wilful damage.
He was denied bail after the court heard he had a lengthy criminal history that included violence and substance abuse spanning about 10 years.
He will be sentenced at a later date.
