Gibbs accepts two-match ban
Carlton midfielder Bryce Gibbs has accepted a two-match suspension for rough conduct on Port Adelaide’s Robbie Gray.
Gibbs’ sling tackle left Gray concussed in Carlton’s thrilling four-point win at the MCG on Saturday.
The AFL’s match review panel (MRP) ruled the tackle constituted careless conduct and was worthy of a three-match ban, reduced to two with an early plea of guilt.

And it was confirmed on Tuesday morning that Gibbs had accepted the sanction.
Carlton will now be without the 26-year-old for clashes against the Gold Coast and the Western Bulldogs.
Gibbs will return in Carlton’s Round 15 clash against Richmond at the MCG.
In other MRP news, Hawthorn’s Ben Stratton and Josh Gibson have accepted $1,000 fines with an early plea for strikes on Adelaide’s Eddie Betts and Charlie Cameron respectively.
Geelong’s Matthew Stokes has also taken a $1,500 fine with an early plea for a second offence of careless contact with an umpire.
Stokes made contact with umpire Chris Donlon during Geelong’s defeat to Melbourne at Simonds Stadium on Sunday.
