Demons show some fight, Crows get the points
Adelaide has prevailed in a wet and wild clash with Melbourne at the Adelaide Oval, running out 25-point winners to keep its undefeated start to the season alive.
The Demons impressed in a tight match that featured a number of physical scraps, plenty of bruises for Crows star Patrick Dangerfield and some appalling conditions as Adelaide emerged the 12.8 (80) to 7.13 (55) winner.
Rory Sloane was brilliant in the wet with 30 disposals and 10 tackles, while Melbourne captain Nathan Jones led from the front in a game the Demons will be disappointed to have lost having missed plenty of opportunities in the second half.
Adelaide now has three wins from three under new coach Phil Walsh, while Melbourne has dropped two in a row after winning on the opening weekend.
More to come.
