Collingwood have announced the departures of Irishmen Marty Clarke and Caolan Mooney and Queenslander Peter Yagmoor from their AFL playing list.

Clarke played 73 games in two stints with the Magpies but was unable to hold down a regular position since returning to the club in 2012.

“Marty played some excellent football over his time and he can be proud of making the transition from Gaelic football to Australian Rules,” Collingwood football director Rodney Eade said.

“At his best, he gave the side real zip and punch.”

His compatriot Mooney was less successful, managing just six games, while Yagmoor leaves after three seasons and two senior appearances.

The trio’s departure adds to the retirements of veterans Nick Maxwell, Ben Hudson, Luke Ball and Quinten Lynch from Collingwood’s squad.
