Macarthur FC has booked its spot in the AFC Cup Zonal final with a 3-0 win over Malaysia’s Sabah, the victory masterminded by two-goal hero Jed Drew.
Macarthur captain Ulises Davila opened the scoring on Tuesday at Campbelltown Sports Stadium by shuffling a pass from Drew on the right flank into the back of the net before half-time.
Hungry for a goal of his own, Drew then added to the A-League Men’s club tally with a left-foot cannon straight into the back of the net after the break.
With Sabah’s AFC Cup hopes rapidly fading, tempers began to flare and a tangle in the corner lured players from both sides into a scuffle.

The tension remained with a third yellow card of the game flashed, this time at Sabah’s Ko Kwang-min.
Drew then put the result beyond doubt and ended Sabah’s AFC Cup dreams by curling another left-foot shot around Khairul Fahmi Che Mat to make it 3-0.
Sabah finished third in the Malaysian Super League last year and was out of competition.
The winner of the Central Coast Mariners and Phnom Penh Crown clash later on Tuesday in Gosford will determine Macarthur’s opponents in Campbelltown on February 22.
