Cristiano Ronaldo’s ‘disgraceful’ celebration
Real Madrid winger Cristiano Ronaldo has been derided for the selfish way he reacted to a goal scored by one of his team-mates.
After Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema scored his second goal for the match against Getafe on Sunday (AEDT), in which the Spanish giants won 4-1, instead of celebrate, Ronaldo chose to complain.
Ronaldo appeared unhappy about being blocked by a Getafe defender in the lead-up to the goal, and despite his team scoring anyway, the three-time Ballon d’Or winner seemed sure he deserved a penalty.

Ronaldo is the team’s regular penalty taker and was perhaps angry at missing out on a chance to score himself.
He was also pictured complaining to the referee in the aftermath of the strike, which put Madrid 2-0 up in the 16th minute.
One Twitter user, @FutbolRamble, described it as “disgraceful”.
Luckily for the Portuguese star, he eventually got his goal. He scored Madrid’s fourth in the 38th minute of the game.
Real Madrid sit third in Spain’s La Liga, four points behind leaders and arch-rivals Barcelona.
