Kyrgios vs Walker: the brawl that keeps on going

The Twitter war between tennis bad boy Nick Kyrgios and Adelaide Crows captain Taylor “Tex” Walker escalated on Thursday night – and, boy, it was good fun to watch.
In the latest instalment, Kyrgios called Walker an ‘idiot’ for posting highlights of himself playing for the Crows after the world No.32 tennis star said he didn’t know who the AFL player was.
Even South Australian Sports Minister Leon Bignell weighed in to the stoush on his Facebook page, calling Kyrgios a “total tool”.

Walker began the Twitter tirade on Wednesday when he called Kyrgios, who is on the cusp of getting a month ban from the ATP tour, a “flog”, “peanut” and “galoot”.
Kyrgios received another code violation and $2062 fine at the Shanghai Masters for obscenity this week, edging him closer to a one-month suspension from the ATP Tour.
That prompted Walker to take to Twitter to vent his anger about Kyrgios’ constant antics.
When is this absolute Galoot going to learn. What a dead set flog!! Just suspend the peanut!! http://t.co/rULDU8SPPz

The young tennis star eventually bit back, claiming he was unaware of the Adelaide footballer.
I don’t even know who Tex walker is lol — Nicholas Kyrgios (@NickKyrgios) October 14, 2015
Walker replied with a video highlight of a spectacular grab to refresh Kyrgios’ memory, and called the Canberran a ‘galoot’ again.
@NickKyrgios here is for future reference buddy – just remember this next time you spit the dummy #galoot http://t.co/s08AnXNq5D — Tex Walker (@texwalker13) October 15, 2015
@texwalker13 the fact that you just posted a highlight of yourself makes me think you’re a bigger idiot than I thought.

@NickKyrgios gees your head must be sore. You thinking (or lack of) isn’t usually a good thing for Australian sport… #galoot

@texwalker13 you and your mate come up with that one? Lol

But just as things looked like they were calming down, Kyrgios couldn’t help but have the last word … or did he?
Till next time boys. #hardluck pic.twitter.com/cBAvyZTmHa — Nicholas Kyrgios (@NickKyrgios) October 15, 2015
Mr Bignell couldn’t resist on joining in on the debate, posting on Facebook: “Congratulations Tex. this snoozer needs to be reminded of what a total tool he is.”
Even ex-Crows star Patrick Dangerfield – who confirmed his much-talked about switch from Adelaide to Geelong this week – chimed in to inject some perspective during the dispute on Wednesday night.
He is the bloke who raised $66,000 for the Leukaemia Foundation shaving his head… Seems like a good bloke to me. https://t.co/ggTmh1trBS — Patrick Dangerfield (@dangerfield32) October 14, 2015
Kyrgios had to point out that he also raises money for charity.
@dangerfield32 I’m currently raising money for a cancer foundation with every ace I hit. Didn’t know it was a competition. — Nicholas Kyrgios (@NickKyrgios) October 14, 2015
@dangerfield32 I wish the best for you both in your careers. Never said a bad word about him. — Nicholas Kyrgios (@NickKyrgios) October 14, 2015
@NickKyrgios sending a nice tweet now makes it impossible for me to send smart ass remark. Goodluck in your next tournament. #deuce — Patrick Dangerfield (@dangerfield32) October 14, 2015
