Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou has bristled at a question from a Tajikistan Football Federation official who asked if he would resign if Australia fails to win Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier.
The official, Aly Shariph, who works as an in-house media producer for the Tajikistan federation, posed the question at the official pre-match press conference ahead of the clash in Dushanbe.

He had referred to Australia’s previous track record of coaches who were dismissed after poor results.
Unsurprisingly, a bemused Postecoglou immediately returned fire.
“I don’t know where the gentleman’s from but I think that’s pretty disrespectful,” Postecoglou said.
“How many coaches have Tajikistan had in recent times?
“We take our job and I take my job a lot more seriously than that question.”
The Socceroos, current Asian Cup holders, are expected to comfortably account for Tajikistan and maintain their perfect record at this stage of qualification for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
