Sea Eagles preparing for massive clean out

Manly Sea Eagles are reportedly planning to get rid of 14 players ahead of next season.

Luke Burgess, Feleti Mateo, Willie Mason and Justin Horo are among the players to be dumped along with Sea Eagles coach Geoff Toovey, according to Channel Nine.

Cherry-Evans hurt in latest Manly loss

NRL 360 host Paul Kent said on Tuesday night Toovey had been offered a payout to quit coaching Manly’s first team for a lesser job at the club, but he had refused it.

“We’ve known for some weeks that at some point Toovey was going to get tapped on the shoulder … Manly need a clean-out,” said Kent.

The Sea Eagles have scheduled a media conference for Wednesday afternoon.

Manly currently sits 13th on the ladder on 16 points and is in serious danger of missing the finals.
