Video: AFL player knees opponent in the face
Collingwood midfielder Taylor Adams’ outstanding display in his side’s loss to Port Adelaide has been overshadowed by a vicious kneeing incident.
During the third quarter of the Power’s epic three point win over the Magpies at Adelaide Oval, Adams dangerously dropped his knee into the head of Port Adelaide’s Justin Westhoff.

Video shows the in and under ball winner involved in a routine footy scuffle on the ground with Westhoff, but things got ugly when the knee became involved.
The emergency umpire arrived to cool down the pair as Westhoff lay on the floor with his face in his hands, while play continued further afield.
Port Adelaide’s big man was left bleeding from the mouth.
Video of the incident is damning for Adams:
Neither Nathan Buckley or Ken Hinkley said they saw the incident in the post match press conference.
The ugly incident was a shame for Adams, who had an incredible 37 disposals, seven clearances and six tackles. He also kicked a superb goal in the last quarter to keep Collingwood in the game.
It’s expected that he will certainly be cited by the AFL match review panel on Monday for the knee.
