#WhyMyTeam: why people support their AFL team
Well it’s official. One of the most Australian Victorian things ever was trending on Twitter today.
After a six month break footy is back and it seems it’s the only thing Melburnians want to talk about.

#whymyteam started trending in Melbourne on Tuesday afternoon with Tweeters telling the stories behind why they barrack for the AFL team they do.
Many people suggested geographic or familial reasons while others said there was a specific person who prompted them to devote their lives to a particular team.
There were some cute stories and there were some footy tragic stories, but mainly it appears that there has been a lot of brainwashing going on.
