Golden tonsils slams Cahill as ‘bloody rude’
Socceroos star Tim Cahill has been accused of hanging up on radio host John Laws during an interview in which he was repeatedly asked how much he earned.
Multi-millionaire Laws questioned the 35-year-old about his new deal with Chinese Super League team Shanghai Shenua, reportedly worth $9.6 million.
Cahill seemed unimpressed with the strange line of questioning from Laws, including whether the Socceroos really were the best team in Asia after winning the Asian Cup.

The 79-year-old veteran shock jock opened the interview by calling Cahill “a very rich man”, before pressing him about how much his Chinese deal was worth.

“I don’t talk about numbers. I’ve had big contracts my whole career, I just don’t like talking about numbers if they’re real or not real,” Cahill said.
Laws responded by calling Cahill “not short of a dollar”, to which the midfielder said he would “prefer to focus about what I do on the pitch”.
The line went dead after Laws challenged the claim that the Socceroos were indeed the “champions of Asia” after winning the Asian Cup last weekend.
“Champions of Asia? It’s a big call, Asia’s got a lot of people,” said Laws, who was left talking to himself.
The radio host defended himself after receiving negative feedback from listeners, suggesting Cahill hung up and called him “bloody rude”.
“Well, let’s forget it. I said I don’t think either of us are short of a dollar, and he hung up. Bloody rude.”
Listeners were ultimately unimpressed with Laws, calling him a “daft bugger” and “off his rocker” on Twitter.
John Laws, needs to understand that whatever Tim Cahill earns, it is off the talent and sweat of his brow. Not sitting in front of a mic!

“Champions of Asia – that’s a big call! That’s a lot of people!” John Laws is off his rocker. Amazing stuff. https://t.co/DXxUWYTT5j

Tell John Laws the Asian Cup was 16 countries in Asia, not the entire population of Asia, & that Cahill isn’t the best player in the world
