A young recruit to AFL premiership team Hawthorn has been convicted of making sex tapes of women without their knowledge, according to an ABC report.

Nineteen-year-old Zac Webster, from Tasmania, was given a two-match ban and ordered to perform 140 hours of community service after secretly filming women engaged in sex acts.

Webster was elevated to Hawthorn’s senior team after performing well in the VFL last year.

The teenager informed the club of the offences after being drafted in 2013, and began pre-season training just days after being convicted in Hobart’s Magistrates Court in October.

His two-match ban will be served in the pre-season competition.

Webster will be made to complete a number of special education sessions, with a spokeswoman for the club saying Hawthorn did not condone Webster’s behaviour.
