Pakistan piles on the runs, and pressure in Dubai
Pakistan leads Australia by 267 runs after a solid first session with the bat on day four of the first Test in Dubai.
Resuming the day on 0 for 38, openers Ahmed Shehzad and Azhar Ali produced a solid opening knock of 71 runs before the first wicket fell.
At lunch, Pakistan was 1 for 116 with Shehzad unbeaten on 55, while first-innings centurion Younis Khan was 26 not out.
Australian debutant Steve O’Keefe produced the only breakthrough, snaring Azhar Ali for 30 as he feathered a catch through to wicket-keeper Brad Haddin.
With five sessions remaining in the match, Pakistan enjoys a strong position in the first Test after dismissing Australia for 303 yesterday, some 151 runs distant from its first innings of 454 all out.
