The aesthetic industry constantly evolves, with innovative treatments and procedures emerging each year. In 2023, we have seen a surge in demand for non-invasive cosmetic treatments.

According to Grand View Research, the Australian facial injectables industry alone is valued at over AU$5 billion, with projected growth of more than 25 per cent every year until 2030.

Why these trends have started

Here are some reasons behind the drive-in demand for non-invasive procedures: Celebrities, technology, and Zoom.

Celebrities and Influencers play a huge role in these trends, as the focus seems more on physical beauty than ever. In particular, anti-ageing has made non-invasive procedures mainstream and more accepted as part of regular beauty routines. This has given the green light for people to seek treatment without fear of criticism.

Technology is another major player; advances in medical technology and procedures in the past few years have made non-invasive solutions available, offering an alternative to traditional plastic surgery. These treatments are typically more affordable, offering faster recovery and giving customers more flexibility in the methods available to enhance their beauty.

Finally, the ‘Zoom Effect’. With the increase in remote work and video conferencing in the past few years, thanks to the pandemic, people are being forced to look at themselves more (via the camera). As such, they’re noticing more wrinkles and imperfections, leading to seek non-invasive aesthetic treatments to look their best both on and off camera.

Procedures in the spotlight

In a world captivated by beauty and youthfulness, procedures that offer rejuvenated skin have become increasingly popular. While Botox, dermal fillers, and IPL Laser are traditional procedures, many more exciting treatments are creating ripples in the industry.

  • RF Microneedling: This technique has gained significant attention thanks to celebrities such as Kim Kardashian. RF Micro-needling is a revolutionary treatment that uses tiny needles to deliver radiofrequency energy deep into the skin. This stimulates collagen production, leading to firmer and smoother skin.
  • Letybo Anti-Wrinkle Procedure: A popular procedure in Korea, a global leader in innovative cosmetic procedures, Letybo is an anti-wrinkle treatment garnering positive reviews. It’s now available in Australia and is making waves within the industry.
  • Profhilo Bio-Remodelling Injections: Profhilo is another treatment that’s setting trends in the aesthetic field. This involves injecting hyaluronic acid into the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production. The result? Enhanced hydration, firmness, and an overall revitalised appearance.

The aesthetic industry continues to offer a range of non-invasive procedures to meet increasing demand. People want quick, effective, and minimally invasive cosmetic procedures regardless of treatment type and as we move into 2024, we expect to see these trends continue to evolve and shape the future of the aesthetic industry.
