The other worldliness of Antarctica is truly fascinating.

The cold there is beyond imagining – winter temperatures along the coast range between -10 and -30 degrees, but it barely nudges the continent’s lowest recorded temperature of -89.2 degrees.

Fortunately, there is a way to see the awesome beauty of Antarctica without freezing.

Soar over the top of the bright white continent and see it from the temperature-controlled comfort of a privately chartered Qantas 787 Dreamliner.

Antarctica Flights is now taking bookings for the 2023-2024 Antarctic summer with flights departing from November 2023 to February 2024 from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.

Passengers will have access to full Qantas international service including drinks and in-flight meals, all while hearing expert lecturers fill you in on the history, climate and wildlife of Antarctica.

The one-day flights last between 12 and 14 hours, with four hours spent flying over Antarctica to enjoy.

The bird’s eye views of the vast white wilderness are maximised thanks to the large windows, which are 65 per cent larger than other similar aircraft.

The first scattered ice pieces will be spotted about three hours south of Australia, followed by dozens of icebergs and ice floes.

Once across the South Magnetic Pole, passengers will start to see the mountainous topography of the Antarctic mainland.

Flight paths are selected to provide views to passengers on both sides of the aircraft.

The stark whites and brilliant blues of the views below will be unforgettable and the photos incredible.

With 19 routes to choose from based on optimal viewing on the day, no two flights are ever the same.

Flights over Antarctica are a bucket list tick to buy for yourself or the ideal gift for those who have it all.

New Year’s Eve flights are also available, allowing passengers to be among the first people in the world to welcome in the new year – in broad daylight.

These unique flights depart Melbourne or Brisbane airports.

Chartering more than 150 private flights since 1994, Antarctica Flights has a wealth of experience in exploring the icy continent over almost 30 years.
