Trump leaves trail of unpaid bills as his advisers advocate for smaller events

Donald Trump’s unpaid bills relating to his campaign events may be stacking up, but there are still plenty of cities across America willing to host one of his rallies.

It has been confirmed by American news that Trump still owes thousands of dollars to counties in Montana from 2018 and a staggering $US569,204.63 ($859,920) to the city of El Paso, Texas, for rallies he has already held.

The former US president has a history of not paying his bills dating back to his time in New York and has been involved in thousands of lawsuits allegedly unpaid invoices and work.

A 2019 report found that Trump owed more than $840,000, and likely more, to city governments around America.

Political supporters and campaigners highlighted the issue when Trump landed in Billings, Montana, last week and then flew two hours to Bozeman, declaring that it was because of the unpaid bills.

The real reason was mechanical problems, however, with Trump finishing his trip to Bozeman on a chartered flight.

Trump then unknowingly boarded one of Jeffrey Epstein‘s former planes for a flight to Wyoming, which was emblazoned with Trump 2024 for the flight.

Rally or not

With the bills stacking up and polls swinging away from him, Trump only has a single rally in Pennsylvania lined up, as his campaign muses potentially reducing the large crowds he favours for smaller ‘messenger’ events instead.

Stephanie Grisham, an aide to Trump during his time in the White House, laughed down the idea by saying Trump would get “bored” during small events.

“He will be demanding to do a large rally sooner rather than later,” she said.

“Donald Trump is a bombastic narcissist, and he loves attention, and he is not going to be happy being quiet or being on message.”

Other Republican elders have urged Trump to stop attacking Kamala Harris about the size of her crowds and her racial identity and to instead focus on issues like the border.

Nikki Haley, a former political rival of Trump who eventually bent the knee, said Trump should instead focus on policy and messaging instead of attacking Harris.

“The American people are smart. Treat them like they’re smart,” she said.

“Talk to them and let them know you need their vote.”

Trolling the field

Harris’s campaign has excitedly pointed out the size of her crowds compared to the Republican candidate, and is aiming a host a rally at the same location that Trump struggled to fill during the Democratic National Convention, according to The New York Times.

The Harris and Tim Walz campaign has drawn crowds of more than 10,000 people at five different events in key swing states in the past week ultimately resulting in Trump departing from reality and claiming the attendance was AI-generated.

Travelling Democrats will be sure to bolster the crowd while attending Harris’s coronation during the four-day event running from August 19 to 22, with the rally set to take place 130 kilometres away from Milwaukee and the DNC.
