Russian missiles have again struck Ukraine’s ports in an apparent bid to erode its enemy’s economy by disrupting the country’s massive grain exports.

The latest strike came in the southern Odesa region, Ukrainian authorities say.

Governor Oleh Kiper said four people were wounded in the strike, which hit a boarding house and a portside grain facility early on Saturday.

He did not specify exactly where the attack took place.

Ukraine’s military said the strike involved supersonic Onyx missiles fired from Russian-occupied Crimea.

Russian forces have carried out regular missile and drone strikes on port infrastructure in recent weeks, making it difficult for major grain producer Ukraine to export its products.

Moscow quit a deal in mid-July that had enabled Black Sea grain shipments and helped combat a global food crisis.

The attacks could have an impact well beyond the disputed territories if Ukraine’s exports are halted or even just reduced, with the created shortage of grain supplies driving up prices around the world.
