Four people have been killed and 16 injured in a fire in a residential high-rise building in India’s financial hub of Mumbai.
The fire, which broke out on the 12th floor of the Crystal Tower residential apartment building in the Parel area, has been doused, Tanaji Kamble, spokesman for the Mumbai municipal corporation said.
Three men and a woman, died in the fire and 16 others were injured, largely due to burns and smoke inhalation injuries.
The injured were in stable condition, Mr Kamble said.

The cause of the fire was not clear and an investigation would be carried out on whether the building met safety regulations, Mr Kamble said.
Deaths in fire accidents are not uncommon in India and are often due to poor safety measures and a lack of fire escapes.
