Trump charity ordered to cease and desist

The New York attorney general has served the Trump Foundation with a cease and desist order that requires it to stop fundraising in New York, alleging it is not properly registered in the state.
“The failure immediately to discontinue solicitation and to file information and reports … with the Charities Bureau shall be deemed to be a continuing fraud upon the people of the state of New York,” according to a letter dated September 30 that the attorney general’s office posted online.
The notice states that the Trump Foundation is in violation of section 172 or Article 7–A of New York’s Executive Law. Under that law, charitable organisations that solicit donations in the state must register, and provide annual reports and audited financial statements.
The Foundation has been given 15 days to do so.

The Washington Post has been conducting an on–going investigation into Trump’s foundation, raising multiple questions about how it’s being run – including reports the money has been used to settle legal issues for his profit–businesses and to buy paintings of himself.
The crooked Trump Foundation is yet another example of the lawless alternate universe that the economic elite live in.

Trump campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks said in a statement that it is concerned with the “political motivations” behind the investigation.
