News Limited is reporting an explosion has been heard at the Maracana Stadium, only days before the Olympic games opening ceremony.

Australian broadcaster Channel 7 said a loud explosion was heard at the stadium after a robot had been sent in to detect a suspicious package early Monday morning (Australian time).
