Donald Trump has been a lightning rod for internet roasting, but his latest effort has been manna from heaven for the Twittersphere.

Khizr Khan, the father of a slain Muslim army captain, took a swipe at Trump at the weekend when he told the Democratic Convention that the Republican nominee had “sacrificed nothing and no one”.

Trump fired back: “I think I’ve made a lot of sacrifices. I work very, very hard.”

He said in an ABC interview his sacrifices included creating thousands and thousands of jobs, taking care of people’s education, and even in the military, as one of those responsible for the Vietnam war memorial being built in Manhattan.

And so in one fell swoop, Trump did it again, sparking an internet frenzy as people shared their hilarious responses to the billionaire’s “sacrifices” under the hashtag #TrumpSacrifices.
