Trump reacts to mockery of his ‘phallic’ symbol

Online mockery of Donald Trump’s new, “phallic” logo appears to have resulted in the design being shelved by his campaign team.
Designed to represent his partnership with running mate, Mike Pence, the joint campaign image depicts the “T” from Trump and the “P” from Mike Pence interconnected with the phrase: “Trump Pence: Make America great again.”
• Trump names running mate
• Why Islamic State hates France
• PM’s awkward seating plan could insult guests
But as quickly as it appeared on the Trump presidential website, it was gone, as social media made a mockery of the design.

Many suggest the design had a sexual undertone and many took to Twitter to poke fun.
“This logo accurately represents what Trump Pence will do to America,” US Senate candidate Alan Grayson wrote.
“What the T+P are doing there is probably considered illegal in at least 14 red states,” Sergio Grant wrote.
Mr Trump formally introduced Mr Pence as his vice-presidential running mate in a joint conference on Saturday, describing the Indiana Governor as a job creator and budget balancer who will help unify the party.

The original logo did not feature in the joint conference and was instead replaced with a different design.
Mr Pence has been a strong advocate in the fight to defund Planned Parenthood family planning clinics, and he passed Indiana’s anti-abortion law this year.
