Six sets of giant panda twins make public debut

A bumper crop of giant pandas have gone on show in China for the first time since they were born earlier this year.
Six pairs of twins were born in China’s Sichuan province in the past four months.
They were born in captivity at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in Chengdu, The Guardian reported.

Visitors were asked to help choose names for the cubs.
Giant pandas are notoriously hard to breed in captivity, according to WWF, and usually give birth to single young pandas, although twins are more common in captivity.
Newborn panda cubs usually weigh a tiny 90g to 130g.
A total of 15 giant pandas have been born in China this year.
