Apartment block collapses in Manhattan
A Manhattan building has collapsed Friday during a blaze, according to reports.

About 30 people have been injured, according to the New York Post.

The building at seventh and second street was engulfed in thick smoke and flames shooting high into the sky.
Police heard a loud bang and raced to the scene from a station about a quarter of a mile away.

There was a report of an explosion and the area is being evacuated, the Associated Press reported.
There are unconfirmed report workers may have been working on a gas line at the time.
Fire fighters were battling the blaze with water cannons from outside the building.
