Texas Ebola nurse ‘so grateful’
Texas nurse Amber Vinson has said she is “so grateful to be well” after contracting and beating the deadly Ebola virus.
• Six things that are scarier than Ebola
Ms Vinson, 29, was one of two nurses who contracted the virus at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital while treating America’s first Ebola patient, Thomas Duncan.
She is the fourth patient to be successfully treated for the virus at Dallas’ Emory University Hospital.
In a tearful press conference, Ms Vinson thanked her doctors, nurses and God for her recovery.
“I sincerely believe that with God all things are possible,” she said.
“As a nurse and now as someone who has experienced what it is like to be cared for through a life-threatening illness, I am so appreciative and grateful for your skill, warmth and care.”
