A 28-year-old Oklahoma school teacher has been arrested by police and is facing rape charges after having an alleged affair with a 15-year-old boy.

English teacher Jennifer Caswell began a relationship with the student before resigning in April after allegations of inappropriate behaviour with the boy, according to a Huffington Post report.

Following a police investigation that took several months, Ms Caswell was arrested when she was allegedly found having sex with the student at a Mississippi hotel in June.

The teenage boy said that he had had relations with Ms Caswell in her classroom days before she resigned, and then at her home following her resignation.

She faces three counts of second-degree rape, two counts of enticing a child, and one count of forcible sodomy.
