Hungry model in court for Pop-Tart theft

A starving model has been arrested after she was caught stuffing her handbag and pockets with Pop-Tarts, from a supermarket in NYC.
Catwalk model Mary Jean Conniff – a 6-foot-tall blond beauty who wore a stunning cream-coloured dress in the Autumn 2012 Victor de Souza fashion show – was busted for allegedly stealing the Pop-Tarts, a cake and even boxes of cake mix and ran off from the supermarket, according to reports in New York Post.
“I don’t want to judge her, but maybe she needed it,” a worker at the store told The Post on Wednesday. “Maybe she was hungry and had a sweet tooth.”
Conniff, 23, from Detroit, does not appear to have scored any notable work since the de Souza show, was reportedly planning a feast that was extra heavy on model-poison carbs.
She appeared in a Manhattan Criminal court on Wednesday, where she agreed to one day of community service.
Conniff’s lawyer, Thomas Kenniff, called the bust a misunderstanding.
“There was no finding of guilt against my client. There’s no reason to think this was anything more than a misunderstanding. She will go on to live a law-abiding life as she has always done,” he said.
