Cyclone warning for remote WA
A tropical low off Western Australia’s Kimberley coast could develop into a cyclone by Tuesday, authorities are warning.
The low was estimated to be 190km west of Argyle, and 220km north northeast of Fitzroy Crossing.
The low is expected to move across the north Kimberley during Sunday, before moving offshore on Monday where it could develop into a cyclone.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services said the system would then track generally parallel to the Pilbara coast before weakening late on Tuesday.
A blue alert has been issued for people in or near the coastal and inland communities between Kuri Bay and Mardie.
A cyclone watch is current for people in or near communities between Mardie and Exmouth.
