A teenage boy has escaped with minor injuries after he was attacked by a crocodile while swimming in Western Australia’s Kimberley region.
The 14-year-old’s camera captured video of the crocodile swimming just centimetres from him and his family, moments after the attack.
Cameron Timms was attacked last Thursday while he was swimming with his family at El Questro’s Moonshine Gorge.
He told the Kimberley Echo: “I had the Go-Pro on to see if anything cool was happening underwater and it captured the croc swimming around.”
The attack comes just two days after vision emerged of a shocking confrontation between a woman, a dog and a large saltwater crocodile in Kakadu National Park last month.
The woman and her dog stood undeterred at the water’s edge as a crocodile stalked them from the shallows, prompting rangers to warn that people are taking too many risks in the Top End.
