Dead pig thrown at WA mosque

A mutilated pig has been thrown at a Perth mosque in what the Muslim community have described as a “disheartening” attack.
The remains were found strewn outside the main entrance of the Masjid Ibrahim Islamic Mosque in Southern River on Monday morning, according to a Perth Now report.
• New anti-terror laws are hurting, not helping
• Anti-Islamic vandalism spate
Mosque spokesperson Imam Shabir said the attack would not stop members from trying to build relationships with the wider community.
“At the end of the day, it doesn’t deter us from the in roads we have made in building relationships,” Imam Shabir said.
It doesn’t deter us, if anything it spurs us on to further educate others”.
The mosque opened in June and according to Imam Shabir, has received “tremendous support” from the local community since its open day several weeks ago.
There has been three separate attacks on mosques in Perth in the past month.
