A pool-y executed escape

A suspect who jumped a fence to escape police only to land in a backyard pool has been charged after a brief chase in a southern Perth suburb.

Police were speaking to two men who had been acting suspiciously in a car park behind a Bentley pharmacy on Saturday night when one of the men ran off.

It appears he jumped a fence and landed on a swimming pool, tearing its cover and falling into the water.

He took off again over another fence and hid behind a car, where police found and arrested him.

It will be alleged he was in possession of methylamphetamine and $1250 cash.

A 20-year-old Camillo man is scheduled to appear in the Northbridge Magistrates Court on Sunday charged with offences including trespass and possessing a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply.
