Derek Schapper, the husband of Alannah MacTiernan, has appeared in court on trust fund charge
The husband of Federal Labor MP Alannah MacTiernan has indicated he will plead guilty to a charge relating to his administration of a trust fund.
It is alleged Derek Schapper withdrew money from his law firm’s trust account that held clients’ money in 2010.
In 2011 Mr Schapper reimbursed the fund and reported himself to the Legal Practice Board.
He is yet to plead to a charge of holding funds contrary to direction but his lawyer today told the Perth Magistrate’s court the matter would not be going to trial.
He is due back in court next month.
