Albany businessman accused of hiring a hitman to kill a woman, will go on trial next month
A prominent Albany businessman, who allegedly attempted to hire a hitman to have a woman killed, will stand trial on the south coast next month.
Brian Vincent Attwell allegedly paid thousands of dollars to an undercover police officer last year to have the woman killed.
Mr Attwell denies the allegation and the Supreme Court heard today that he would formally plead not guilty before the trial begins on November 25th.
The court had heard previously there was uncertainty over Mr Attwell’s mental state and fitness to plead.
His bail was extended until the start of his trial.
