A man has been shot dead outside a shopping centre in Melbourne’s north in what police believe is a targeted attack.

Emergency workers arrived at the shopping centre on Windrock Ave in Craigieburn just before 3pm on Saturday after reports of several shots being fired.

They found two injured men, with one dying at the scene.

The other man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police have cordoned off the area and are working to determine the motive behind the incident, which they say appears to have been targeted.
