Workers carrying out plumbing at a Phillip Island property have found themselves in a crime scene after unearthing suspected human remains.
Police and emergency services were called to a property on Hazelwood Court in Silverleaves on Thursday morning after remains — “believed to be human” — were found.
“It is understood plumbing works were being undertaken when the bones were unearthed about 8.35am,” Victoria Police said.
A crime scene has been established at the property with police on the scene as the remains undergo forensic testing.
