A man is dead after being shot in suburban Melbourne.
Police have responded to gunshots at a property in Victoria’s Gippsland region, with a major incident unfolding on Thursday afternoon.
Victoria Police said they were investigating reports of gunshots at a property in Dumbalk North, east of Leongatha.
Officers are on scene as part of an ongoing investigation.
A spokesperson confirmed there were reports of shots fired at the rural address.
No police members have been injured.
The Herald Sun reported the incident was a “siege” involving a gunman.
Dumbalk North is about 160km south-east of Melbourne.
