A man and woman have been found dead on a walking track near Victoria’s Great Ocean Road.

The two bodies were discovered by a passerby on a trail near Wreck Beach at Gellibrand Lower, in Victoria’s south-west, about 10.45am on Friday, police said.

Officers are yet to determine the circumstances surrounding the two deaths, and a crime scene has been established.

“At this early stage, police are not searching for anyone else in relation to the incident,” a police spokesman said.

Wreck Beach is part of the Great Otway National Park and is named after an 1869 shipwreck. The area, which has a nearly two-kilometre trail from the Shipwreck Beach lookout point, is popular with hikers and runners.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
