Pair fight for life after hit-and-run driver ploughs into Melbourne bus stop
Two pedestrians are fighting for life in a Melbourne hospital after being struck by a hit-and-run driver at a suburban bus stop.
The man and a woman were hit just after 11am on Saturday, with the driver of the car allegedly fleeing the scene on foot.
A 35-year-old man was arrested on Saturday when he went to hospital, where he remains under police guard.
Police said the two pedestrians — a man, 20, and a 17-year-old woman – were standing by the bus shelter on Clayton Road when they were hit by the car.
They were rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Victoria Police’s Major Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene.
