Three overseas winery workers killed in Victorian car crash
Three men have been killed and another is fighting for life after the car the winery workers were in rolled and crashed into trees in northern Victoria.
Two 21-year-old Canadian passengers and an unidentified driver were killed when their car rolled on a turn at Dingwall about 12.30am on Sunday.
A 19-year-old British man was flown from the scene to Royal Melbourne Hospital where he remains critically injured. A 29-year-old German man was also injured.
“It is believed all five occupants of the vehicle were in Australia on a working visa and up until now had been working nearby at a local winery,” Acting Assistant Commissioner Tim Hansen told reporters in Melbourne.
“It is also believed that prior to thee collision that all five occupants had been drinking at a nearby hotel.”
Authorities are now working to contact the next of kin of all five men and help with travel arrangements.
