Toddler killed by falling bookcase in freak accident

A freak accident, in which a bookcase fell on and killed a toddler, will be examined by the Victorian Coroner.
Three-year-old Blake Shaw was killed when the bookcase fell on him in the living room of his home at Clear Lake, near Horsham, The Herald Sun has reported.
Blake had not been trying to climb the bookcase and was well away from it when it fell without warning, the family told the newspaper
Grandmother, Dianne Shaw, told The Herald Sun that she and her grandson had spent a beautiful day at the beach before the accident.
“He called me ‘grandma’ for the first time,” she said. “We are devastated. Just devastated. He was our baby.”
A police spokeswoman said a report would be prepared for the coroner.
