Train station trespasser causes commuter chaos
A trespasser on the tracks at Richmond has caused a headache for commuters trying to get home to Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs, along with football fans heading to the MCG.
Metro Trains has had to shut off power at the busy station to deal with the trespasser.
Police said the man had climbed a signal gantry at Cremorne before officers managed to negotiate with him to come down safely.
The Cranbourne/Pakenham, Frankston and Sandringham lines have all been suspended between Flinders St and Caulfield as a result, causing massive delays.
Making matters worse for regular commuters on their way home, the shut down has also affected fans on their way to watch Collingwood and Richmond at the MCG.
