Ricky Nixon arrested for alleged disgusting slur

Former footballer and agent Ricky Nixon has been arrested for alleged telecommunications offences, according to Victoria Police.

Nixon was arrested on Wednesday at his Port Melbourne home but then later released pending further inquiries.

Telecommunications offences can relate to making threatening phone calls or social media posts.

Police gave no further details on the alleged incident, however a News Corp report claimed to have more information on what led to the arrest.

In the report, Cathy Carrigan claimed Nixon posted a photo to social media of her two-year-old granddaughter last Friday, accompanied by an offensive comment.

The comment with the photo allegedly said: “next f***”.

A complaint was reportedly made to police, who then arrested Nixon later in the day.

Ms Carrigan alleged Nixon uploaded the offensive post after her son called Nixon “an idiot”. Nixon then blocked the woman’s son.

Last week, Nixon won a court battle with the infamous “St Kilda schoolgirl” Kim Duthie, who wanted to halt the publication of his tell-all biography.

Ms Duthie feared revelations in the book would unfairly and irreparably tarnish her reputation.
