Another woman, 88, also from Rosebud West, died at the scene on Wednesday and eight others were injured in the collision.
Police believe the car drove onto the wrong side of the road before colliding with the minibus, which was transporting senior citizens with dementia, in Rosebud.
“They were on a day trip to Mornington today and didn’t get far when the Holden Commodore swerved into their path and has collided,” Detective Sergeant Darren Williams from Victoria Police’s Major Collision Investigation Unit said on Wednesday.
“They’ve obviously had a head-on collision.”
Police said the driver of the Commodore, a 23-year-old Coburg man, is being interviewed after he was released from Dandenong Hospital.
